Finding a clean, strong way to mount a Saginaw steering box on a custom chassis isn't always easy. Most steering box brackets are designed for a specific vehicle or simply reinforce an existing factory frame.

Our Universal Saginaw 800/808 Steering Box Mount Plates were designed from the ground up for custom fabrication. Whether you're building a tube chassis, replacing a frame, or fabricating a custom boxed frame, these laser-cut plates provide a solid starting point for mounting a common Saginaw 800/808 steering gear.

The mounting pattern is compatible with both 3-bolt and 4-bolt Saginaw 800/808 steering box castings. The plates are designed to be used with weld-in tubing spacers through the frame, creating a boxed mounting structure that helps prevent frame crush and distributes steering loads through the frame.

Originally designed and tested on our Junkyard Jeepster project using an inside-the-frame steering box configuration.

Fitment Note:

This is a universal fabrication component and is not a direct bolt-on bracket for a specific vehicle. Saginaw steering boxes were produced in numerous configurations over the years. Verify your steering box mounting pattern and intended orientation against the product drawing before ordering.

This mount is intended for Saginaw 800/808 steering boxes mounted on the inside of the frame. Outside-the-frame steering box configurations may use a different mounting pattern/orientation and are not considered a direct fit.
